What biochar can do:
Biochar has an extremely high number of microscopic open pores. This improves soil aeration, allows it to retain water and nutrients exceptionally well, and provides a habitat for soil organisms. It is perfectly suited for improving existing soil in raised beds, gardens, and potted plants.

Recharging biochar:

Mix the biochar into the compost or add it in layers repeatedly.
Ideally, the mixture should decompose for several weeks and then be spread on the garden soil or lightly worked into the ground. Alternatively, the mushroom charcoal can also be activated in the barn or with liquid fertilizer. Instructions for this are available online.
